Pick up your pen … and write a poem
The Cooperation and Cultural Action Service of the French General Consulate in Shanghai – French Institute of China (IFC), in collaboration with the Alliance Française of Shanghai and the Arbre du Voyageur in Shanghai, organises a writing competition of acrostic poems addressed to students of the Chinese middle schools in Shanghai, to celebrate the 21st edition of the francophonie in China.
The objective of the competition is to stimulate the creativity of students in relation to French language, which they are learning at school as their second foreign language.
It means that students have to realise together a written document based on laguage. Each school is invited to submit 2 acrostic poems.
What is an acrostic poem? It is a poem which we can read vertically, from the top to the bottom. The first letter of each line corresponds to the letters of the word, linked with the poem’s theme.
Chinese students can participate with the word “francophonie”, the 10 words of the project “Dis-moi 10 mots de la francophonie” (Tell me 10 words of francophonie) or the names of the countries which have proposed the 10 words.
The award ceremony for the best poem will take place at Alliance française in Shanghai.
