Alcazar Memories - Paul Lay Trio

This program introduced by a Franco-Swedish trio is a tribute to the roots of the popular songs of the French and Swedish heritage (mainly focused on Provençal repertoire) along with original compositions. Isabel Sorling sings in French, English, Swedish, Spanish.

The Alcazar Memories project was formed in response to a commission from the Théâtre de la Criée in Marseille for the 2013 Marseille European Capital of Culture.The extensive tour of the project which followed in the summer of 2013 was highly acclaimed by its audiences. In June 2015 Alcazar Memories gave eight concerts in Sweden.

Paul Lay graduated from the Paris Conservatory (CNSM) where he studied at the Jazz and Improvised Music Department. He has won numerous prizes both in national and international competitions. He won the Soloist prize at the National Jazz Competition of La Defense, like glorious predecessors as Bojan Z or Baptiste Trotignon.
