Paris Combo is a band whose place in the current music scene is somehow unique, even having recorded five studio albums and having sung in concerts for twenty years around the world. Once again they tour in France with 5, their latest album, which was released in France and the US in February 2014.
Since the release of their eponymous first album in 1997, they’ve been singing in all the popular festivals and prestigious music scenes (including, Olympia, twice) with each record release accompanied by lengthy tours such as Living-room in 1999 (Gold Record nominated for Victoires de la Musique, France’s Music Awards), Attraction in 2001, and Motifs (Motives) in 2004. In their new album, 5, the listener finds an arrogant outlook mixed with a sense of sweet irony that has been the band’s trademark since they began. This very style is demonstrated in their latest album’s first hit, Je te vois partout (I see you everywhere), we hear a lovely celebration of contemporary adoration revealed through a love song. Once more, Paris Combo strips into a French world music band to listen to the heart of the word beating.
