Emmanuel Delannoy makes economy and ecology join hands

Is economy the end for the environment? Is a green economy for growth still possible? In the face of systemic crises (social, environmental, economic) can we develop opportunities for optimal solutions? To all these questions Emmanuel Delannoy is tempted to respond positively.

For him it means relying on a new vision of the relationship between the living, both human and not, and between macroeconomic models and the physical limits of the biosphere in order to deduce what new “postures” and cultures it implies for the corporate world and national decision-makers. From theory to practice, he bets on perma-economy, bio-inspiration, collective intelligence and ecological solidarity.

The subjects of the conferences and master classes:

-              “How the vocabulary of scientific ecology transforms economic thought” (Fu Lei training of translators)
-              The founding myths of the relationship between Man and Nature and their effects on development, with Gregory Quenet.
-              “Metamorphosis: the new natures of the economy” (academic lecture)

Basing his research on a systemic vision and an interdisciplinary approach combining philosophy, economy and ecology, Emmanuel Delannoy advocates for a new ethics of the relations between human and non-human living creatures and proposes new micro- and macro-economic models which take into account the physical limits of the biosphere. He also offers concrete measures to adapt managerial practices within companies and territorial organizations. From theory to practice, he bets on permaeconomy, biomimetism, collective intelligence and ecological solidarity.

Grégory Quenet is a university professor specialising in environmental history, and the creator of a French-language website for the environmental humanities. He is the author of Versailles, a natural history – a book examining the natural history of the Palace of Versailles from the time of its construction through to the French Revolution. The book highlights the difficult relationship between the demands of the royal construction and the palace’s natural setting.
