The Pivot Dictation in back on Faguowenhua’s Wechat from 1st March 2017! Discover this new competition that will allow you to have a lot of fun while finding out about the Francophone world and all the subtleties of the French language! The boldest participants will be able to secure a ticket for an incredible final in Beijing on the International Day of La Francophonie!

Throughout the Francophonie Festival, participants will be able to test their knowledge of Francophone culture and the French language by chatting with an intelligent ‘robot’ on the Faguowenhua WeChat account. Open to all Francophones and budding Francophiles, this game will allow you to learn all about the Francophone world and to win a range of prizes offered by the partners of the Pivot Dictation in China.

The most hardened Francophones will qualify for a dramatic final round on 20th March 2017 at the Swiss Residence in Beijing, which will be transformed for the occasion into a prestigious examination hall. A dictation will be read out by a leading celebrity from the Francophone world. And the prize: the chance to discover ‘la Francophonie’ in France, Switzerland, or Quebec, with some incredible trips to the most beautiful and important historical and cultural Francophone sites.

In 2016, 30,000 players took part on WeChat – the leading social network in China. The operation was carried out across China, with the generous corporate support of Pierre Fabre. The final on 20th March included 29 candidates. With significant media coverage in both countries, it gave a very positive impression of the French presence in China.

President of the Académie Goncourt since 2014, writer and host of literature programme; Bernard Pivot has a long career serving as journalists on television. He hosted the famous literary programme Apostrophes where he interviewed for more than 20 years the biggest names in the writing world. Defending the French language, he brought back dictation - often associated with the worst souvenirs at school - as a popular exercice. In order to celebrate the French language in China, Bernard Pivot is sponsoring a distinctly modern version of the dictation via a big WeChat game here in China and a Grand Finale at the Résidence of the Swiss Embassy.
