Tell me ten words online

Tell me ten words online

Avatar, hoax, emoticon, to host, bookmark, browser, mobile, cloud, hacker, phubbing, these ten words born from the new digital uses or adapted in consequence, are the words that the participants would play with this year.

Aimed at French learners from Chinese high schools from Shanghai and its area, the contest is part of the “Tell me ten words” and the 22th festival of the Francophonie in China.

Every year ten words are chosen to promote French language and  its diversity. This year the world of digital technology is highlighted to show how French language adapts to digital evolutions.

Two contests will be organised with Chinese high schools in Shanghai. A contest for beginners who will show their drawings talents by illustrating one of the ten words in an original and creative way. The second contest is intended for learners who have a deeper knowledge of French language: they will invent a poetry slam by using at least 5 of the ten words above. The participants will share their work, and Chinese students will learn to “slam” in French.
