Festival Piano aux Jacobins | Thomas Enhco

Thomas Enhco, born in Paris in 1988, is a French pianist and composer. He starts playing the violin at the age of 3 and the piano at 6, with a classical and jazz training in both instruments.

His first album Esquisse (featuring drums-legend Peter Erskine) comes out in 2006. In 2008 he is spotted by one of the most important jazz producers in Japan, the late Itoh “88” Yasohachi, who produces his 2nd record Someday My Prince Will Come.
In 2010, Thomas wins two major French awards : Django d’Or “New Talent” and 3rd Grand Prize at Martial Solal International Jazz Piano Competition.In 2012, he records in New York with jazz giants Jack DeJohnette on drums and John Patitucci on bass.The same year, Thomas Enhco Trio's record, Fireflies, is released. It's a big success among both the press and the audience, and it wins the award "Révélation" at the Victoires du Jazz 2013 (French Grammy).
In 2015 in Paris, he packs the famous Théâtre du Châtelet for his album release concert, with guests Kurt Rosenwinkel on guitar and Henri Demarquette on cello.
In 2017, he will make his debut concerts with symphony orchestras, with Orchestre National de Lorraine, Orchestre de Pau Pays de Béarn and Orchestre Régional Avignon Provence, in Gershwin's Concerto in F and Rhapsody in Blue, Mozart's 24th Piano Concerto (K.491), John Adams' Eros Piano and the premiere of his own First Piano Concerto.

Established in France in 1979, the Piano aux Jacobins Festival has forged special links over the years with some of the most important performers of our time. The festival is returning to Asia for the thirtheenth consecutive year. Famous for both the virtuosity of the pianists it selects and the variety of a program that spans classical, contemporary and jazz music, the festival has earned a special place in the heart of Chinese music lovers.
