On the occasion of the centenary of Roland Barthes’ birth, you are invited to rediscover the thinking – critical, singular, rich and copious – of a man who was a language and literature theorist, an intellectual and a writer.
Workshops on new Chinese Mythologies, Fu Lei training for translators, conferences, seminars and debates with three French specialists on the works of the great man will shape the ‘Roland Barthes Week’.
Three French specialists on the works of Roland Barthes will lead the discussions:
- Eric Marty: French contemporary literature teacher, editor of Œuvres completes (Complete Works) of Roland Barthes published by Editions du Seuil and curator of the exhibition Les écritures de Roland Barthes, Panorama (The writings of Roland Barthes – Panorama) at the French National Library;
- Tiphaine Samoyault: comparative literature teacher, literary critic, translator, novelist and author of a magnificent biography entitled Roland Barthes, published by the Seuil publishing house in January 2015.
- Mathieu Messager
