Poetry

Poetry

Created in 2011 at the festival Mettre en Scène at the Théâtre National de Bretagne, Poetry is a duet for two dancers (Julien Gallée-Ferré and Maud Le Pladec), accompanied in live by Tom Pauwels performing Trash TV Trance, a solo for electric guitar by Fausto Romitelli.

This piece specifically deals with rhythm, music, dance and the relationship between these two art forms.
The expressivity of this hybrid work, woven with spectral harmonics and wild riffs, creates a laboratory conducive to experimentation. To enclose the bodies in a vibratory canvas, the musician Tom Pauwels took hold of this saturated partition, intensifying its loops and tormenting its matter. Like a chisel, the guitar digs into scenic space, widens it, transmits a direct current to the interpreters, animating them and diffusing a slow modulation of states in its members. Embodying a haunting yet discrete presence that flirts with the edge, Maud Le Pladec and Julien Gallée-Ferré play with the repetitive essence of sound while varying the ways of slipping in and out of it, marrying its endless metamorphosis.
