Conference | More nature in the city!

Conference | More nature in the city!

As the countryside urbanises, the green city has become an important model of sustainable urban development for decision makers around the world. This is necessity to mitigate the effects of climate change on increasingly hot cities and on the victims of natural disasters.

The proliferation of green spaces, parks and public gardens that are easily accessible and managed in an ecological way aims to provide a better quality of life for a generation of city dwellers who have never been more atune to environmental issues. For a growing number of urbanites, a craving for nature in the city is manifested in the practice of gardening at available intersections, in vacant lots or on roof terraces. A trend or profound change in the behavior of 21st century urban dwellers is the cultivation of fruits and vegetables as close as possible to the home.

The conferences and round tables will help to shed light on reasons, benefits and advances in ecological management of nature in the city, and by hearing about French and Chinese urban gardening experiences. In Guangzhou, the conference will focus on aquaponia, and the public will be invited to visit organic farms and apiaries with French experts.
