Portraits of actresses by Kate Barry

Portraits of actresses by Kate Barry

An homage to Kate Barry (daughter of Jane Birkin and John Barry), a photographer who died tragically and prematurely, and to her great photographic talent

This exhibition Portraits of Actresses presents 25 photographs of film actresses, among which appear the best-known of their generations: Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Huppert, Emmanuelle Beart…to Mélanie Laurent and Adèle Exarchopoulos.

This exhibition, which will raise the visibility of French film, should benefit from strong media coverage, first and foremost at the time of its launch in Italy, where it will be attended by Jane Birkin and by Kate Barry’s son and heir, Roman de Kermadec.

The Institut français has produced, presented and promoted this exhibition overseas; it was undertaken jointly with the photographer and journalist Aline Arlettaz, who initially proposed the project and selected the photographs together with Barry’s heir and her agent, as well as the Institut français.
