Making its fifth tour this year, the China Women’s Film Festival (CWFF) began in 2013. It was the first event of such a scale focusing on film and women’s issues in China. Its second year it came in 2nd place in the Austrian Intercultural Achievement Award given by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since its beginning, the festival has been supported by many partners including UN Women and foreign embassies like the French, the Dutch, the Norwegian and the Swedish embassies. Following the success of the previous 3 years, the festival is back and shows many films and documentaries dealing with women’s rights. Many filmmakers, feminists and other guests from China and abroad are participating and sharing their experience and work with the audience.
