Urban change and environment: what law for the 21st century city?

Franco-Chinese Encounters on Law and Justice

Through a series of conferences and practical workshops, lawyers and legal professionals (students, academics, lawyers, notaries, magistrates) will have exchanges with urban planners, environmental experts and representatives of non-governmental organizations on the subject of the legal framework for sustainable cities. The action will also provide an opportunity for the participants to share their views and experiences on the current state of environmental law of the two countries, in particular regarding the concept of “ecological harm” in France, and the recently introduced Law on Environmental Protection in the People's Republic of China.

Sino French Forum on Law and Justice is a cooperative action aimed at promoting legal dialogue between the main French and Chinese legal actors. These encounters on environmental law are the second in a series of dialogues following meetings on civil law held in June 2017.
