Conference | Fashion and environment: dressing ethically

Nathalie Broun

Asia and Middle East Representative of MOD’ART – international development project manager, director of MOD’ART in Vietnam, coordinator of Fashion Revolution Vietnam

The fashion industry is a serious source of pollution. Toxic substances that endure as long as the clothes themselves have consequences for the environment as well as the consumer. At the same time, textiles adapt themselves to the town: via technique or intelligence, they innovate and adapt to our new ways of living and how we use them. All without risk? Via a series of workshops and conferences, the speakers will address public and professionals in fashion and propose some alternatives: an ethical fashion industry that integrates new materials suited to life in the town, it is about creating a new generation of stylists/fashionistas and consumers. One reflection will suggest that we consider our own role in the fashion industry as pollutant.

About Fashion Revolution:

Fashion Revolution is a not-for-profit global movement with teams in over 90 countries around the world. Fashion Revolution campaigns for systemic reform of the fashion industry with a focus on the need for greater transparency in the fashion supply chain. In 2014, 2015 and 2016 millions of people called on brands to answer the question Who Made My Clothes?
