Green Café : lectures for all on environment

As global warming accelerates, with increasing consequences for the environment and our lifestyles, what can we do now in our daily life to limit our footprint?

Throughout the Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment, conferences and workshops for the general public will be held in Shanghai. The aim will be raising awareness of the risks and consequences of pollution and global warming, how to deal with them and what we can come up with, as daily actors, to fight for the protection of the environment. Violaine Allais, urban planner specializing in environmental questions, will present the context and challenges of the Grand Paris, a urban development project at the scale of the metropolis, refocusing the inhabitant at the heart of the city’s development. Aline Chevalier, researcher in urban planning at Tongji University, will also present the perception we have of cycling in the city, especially in Shanghai. Finally, Christine Biancarelli and Sophie Coursault, professors at East China Normal University, will offer us several challenges to be met daily, in order to reduce our share of pollution in the city.

Every month, the Department of Cultural Action and Cooperation of the French Consulate General in Shanghai holds free and public lectures, called "SHS Cafés". Various themes allow the public to discover or deepen their knowledge in various fields of human and social sciences.
